Apple Crunch Crisp


Serves 10                                      Barbara Lang

8 green apples
1/2 c water
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 c sugar      MIX TOGETHER
TOPPING
3/4 C flour
1/2 C brown sugar
1/2 C sugar
1/2 C butter
1/4 C chopped walnuts    MIX UNTIL CRUMBLY
    Place in a 9 x 12 pan.  Apple mixture first, then topping.  Bake at 400 deg. for 30 min. then 200 deg. for 15 min.  Cool slightly and serve plain or with whipped cream or with vanilla ice cream.
